Around the SL,UT, April 1, 2011

April 1, 2011

No jokes here, there is a lot happening around Salt Lake City. Okay, so some of this week’s events have a lot to do with jokes, but they’re really happening. Check out this week’s edition of Around the SL,UT, the SLC guide for the rest of us.

It’s an improv comedy duel Saturday night, as Toy Soup takes the stage with HiJinks to make you laugh all night. The show is only $5, at Mo’s Neighborhood Grill, 9pm. You haven’t seen local comedy, until you’ve seen Toy Soup.

This sunday, a kind of Sabbath that I can get behind. Craft Sabbath is holding their Spring & Easter market at the Salt Lake Main Library. From 1-5pm, show incredible local goods made by the artists, designers, and other creatives in our own community. You will definitely find the most unique gifts here.

Tuesday night, it’s the Arrested Development Quiz at A Bar Named Sue. $5 entry per player qualifies you for the $200+ cash prize. So if you know your never-nudes, hot cops, and chicken dances, this is the place to be. First round of questions begins at 8pm, arrive early. There are Geeks Who Drink quizzes happening every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday night, with great drink specials, random knowledge, prizes, and fun. See GeeksWhoDrink.com for all the details.

The Annual Park City Cocktail Contest is now the Park City Spring Cocktail Contest. All of Park City’s best bartenders will be creating their best springtime concoctions to enjoy sipping in the sun. You can watch the bartenders work, and be among the first to enjoy these new drinks April 6, 6:30pm. Only $10 admission.
