Around the SL,UT August 5, 2011

August 5, 2011

It’s time to dance, magic dance! Because this weekend has everything from the Goblin King, to the King of bad taste jokes, and we’re being invaded by ZOMBIES! Otherwise known as another exciting week Around the SL,UT.

See David Bowie and his… goblins dancing on the big screen. Tower Theatre is showing Labyrinth Friday and Saturday at 11pm, Sunday at noon. How often do you get to see this in the theater? Tickets are only $5.

Tragic world events don’t get a grace period from Gilbert Gottfried, as he went ahead and made Godzilla jokes after the earthquakes in Japan. Now, the former Aflac spokesduck is in SLC with four chances to see him be possibly even more offensive. Tickets are $20, shows at Wiseguys West Valley, Friday and Saturday, 7:30pm & 10pm.

The Zombie Crawl Route

Halloween is sneaking up on us, and the zombies are invading this weekend. The fourth annual Zombie Crawl is Sunday, August 7. Beginning at the Northwest corner of Pioneer Park at 7pm, zombies will be running, limping, crawling, and taking over downtown. Dress up and join the walk, or come for the photo opportunity, this is a sight to behold.

Want to hit Park City this weekend? It’s time for the Kimball Arts Fest. Taking place along Park City’s Main Street, tickets are only $10 for a full-weekend pass. There will be food, music, crafts, and of course… art. There is plenty of free parking at Park City Resort and Deer Valley Resort, and shuttle buses to get you to Main Street.

Support your local comedians, and enjoy a night of drinking and laughing for only $2 this Thursday, August 11 as John Hilder headlines K-Town Komedy at Club DJ’s. It’s a great atmosphere with cheap drinks, and a great lineup of locals like Melissa Merlot and your host Steve McInnelly.

Snoop Dogg is coming September 8, and tickets are on sale Saturday, August 6 at 10am at SmithsTix.
