It’s a week of St. Patrick’s Day celebration. Saturday morning is the St. Patrick’s parade at Gateway. Beginning at 10am, have fun watching the marching bands, dancers, and more. Later Saturday night, Young Dubliners are at The Depot (8pm $25). And then, the party really begins…

St. Patrick’s Day in Salt Lake: Drink and party like the Irish

Fast-forward to Wednesday for a St. Patrick’s Eve party at Piper Down. Traditional Irish pub quiz at 7pm with prizes for your random pop-culture knowledge. Followed by music by Wailing O’Sheas, who perform their tribute to Dropkick Murphys and Flogging Molly. Arrive early, as Wednesday nights are already one of the hottest nights at Piper Down, and this one will be huge!

Most bars will be having St. Patrick’s themed parties Thursday. Lucky 13 will have bag pipers throughout the day, and Gracies will have corned beef & cabbage, and lamb stew with live music through the night.

Of course, the biggest St. Patrick’s day party in town continues at Piper Down where the best Irish food is being served from 10am. Live music for lunch by Catgut Whiskey from noon-2pm (no cover for lunch). $5 cover before 5pm, and live music beginning at 6pm, featuring Swagger, Putnam Smith, Heathen Highlanders, and the Crawford School of Irish Dancing.

Then recovery for your week begins at 11am, where Piper Down is serving $1 mimosas and a free bloody mary bar from 11am-4pm. For those who consider drinking at a bar on St. Patrick’s Day “amateur night,” Friday is Professionals Night. More great drinks and Irish food, with karaoke at 9pm.
