We are heading full-speed toward Halloween, and it’s all about horror! With a few laughs sprinkled in to keep us from being too terrified. It’s a very special terror edition of Around the SL,UT.

First, the laughs: What do limericks, leather, laughs, and the f-word have in common? Of course, it’s Andrew Dice Clay. The original heavyweight bad boy of comedy is making a comeback, and he’s here at Wiseguys West Valley Friday and Saturday, shows at 7pm & 9:30pm. Tickets are $30.

A local master of comedy is putting on his own show, Blake Bard presents Hodgepodge. A combination of comedy, music, and burlesque, Blake’s shows have been growing in popularity every month. Shows are Friday 7pm & 9pm at The Complex, tickets are only $15 at the door.

If scares are what you crave, you’re in luck. Tower Theatre is holding an All Night Horror-o-Thon Friday, October 14 from 11pm until morning. See “An American Werewolf in London,” “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre,” “Re-Animator,” and “Suspiria” all for only $15. If your nerves can handle it, and caffeine can keep you up through this event, you’ll receive an “I Survived” t-shirt to commemorate your accomplishment.

Saturday, October 15 is one of the most exciting cinema events this Halloween season. Read all about Theatre of Terror right here.

Is your dog feeling left out of the Halloween fun? Head to The Depot Saturday night for Cause for Paws’ Howl-O-Ween Benefit. Music, free psychic readings, doggie trick-or-treating, and more at this event. Doors open at 8pm, tickets are $25.

Tuesday, October 18 is City Weekly night at Nightmare on 13th. Get $10 off admission this night only with a coupon found here.

Wednesday night, Tower Theatre honors the king of Halloween with a Dracula Double Feature. Nosferatu at 7pm and Bram Stoker’s Dracula at 9pm. Tickets are $5 per show, or $8.75 for both.

Don’t forget, the Salt Lake and Ogden Ghost Tours continue every weekend this month, and are a great activity for a date or just hanging out with friends.
