Futurama Quiz in Salt Lake

October 11, 2011

Good news, everyone!

“Futurama” geeks know: The sci-fi cartoon has had a difficult run. Fans and critics love it — Guiness World Records in 2010 gave it “Current Most Critically Acclaimed Animated Series”– but network execs have handled it like an unwanted stepchild. Fry, Leela and Bender now have a loving home at Comedy Central, and this November Geeks Who Drink will dork out in 31st Century New New York with an all “Futurama” quiz.

Monday, November 14 is the day. Devil’s Daughter is the place. First question is at 8pm sharp, so arrive early!
Unless you’re a robosexual who’s temped at Planet Express, now is the time to bust out the DVDs and beef up. The series is full of nerdy in-jokes, and this quiz for “Futurama” fans will be teeming with geeky details from all six seasons.

As always, teams are limited to six players, and there’s an admission fee of $5 per player. The winning team may not get tickets to the touring production of  but they will take home a cash purse between $200 and $500 (depending on total number of players).

These events draw record numbers of players and are first come, first served. Get there early to ensure you can play.
