Bring together the local brewers of our state, and let’s start tasting! Thanks to City Weekly for organizing this great event in downtown SLC so we can get a taste from 14 different brewers. The festival takes place this Saturday, August 27 from 1-6pm at the Salt Lake City & County building (Washington Square) along 500 south between State and 200 east.

The festival will feature brewers from all over the state. Squatters, Wasatch, Uinta, Bohemian, Roosters, Moab, Park City, Ruby River, Shades of Pale, Epic, Desert Edge, Hoppers, Red Rock, and Tracks will have their beers on hand for samples or full pours. You receive 5 sample tokens with your admission, and additional tokens will be available for purchase. Your admission also gives you a commemorative sample mug.

There are also 10 food sponsors on site when you get the munchies. Casual Cuisine Catering, Chow Truck, Chocolate Conspiracy, Chris ‘N Dave’s Boiled Peanuts, City Dogs, El Zocalo, Hoppers Brew Pub, The Pie, Sweet Salt Lake Fresh Mint Lemonade, and R & R BBQ will be serving snacks to full meals.

Take TRAX to the event, the festival is conveniently located next to the Library Station on the Red Line.

Admission is $15 for drinkers, $5 for designated drivers. This is a 21+ event. Buy your tickets in advance at several locations, or at the gate. Bring cash for beer and food.

Two words for SLC Beerfest: rip off. $15 for your first beer and 1+ hour lines. Next year I’m staying home.
